I didn’t know what to expect… I’ve been to the Pacific Beach Hotel on numerous occasions and it never really made an impression on me. The location is ideal… right in the heart of Waikiki, but it was just kind of old and tired. We used to use their ballrooms for our interview phase for the pageants. Fast-forward to 2018 and I must say that I am IMPRESSED. The remodel and rebrand into the “Alohilani Resort” is fantastic.
It’s modern, chic and yet somehow still gives you a level of comfort reminiscent of home. The kids loved the pool area and they even have batting cages and tennis courts! The oceanarium is better than I remember and they feed the fish twice a day – that was super exciting for the kids. I used the ‘business center’ more than I would have liked, but it was great to have a place to go where I wouldn’t bother the kids after their bedtime. Plus, Morimoto is my FAVORITE and it’s right there in the hotel. We only stayed two nights but would have loved to spend more time exploring, guess we’ll just have to make another trip to Honolulu sometime soon!
**Full disclosure: Our rooms were complimentary but we paid for all of our incidentals. This is my honest opinion of the resort and amenities.**
